It's interesting to see this side of the conflict.

Tch. Why don't we find out whether the rumour is true by investigating whether any female mages have borne children and how their birth rate compares to those of non-mage women? And while we're at it, let's compare fatherhood rates for the males.

This sounds like a major non sequitur. I thought they were still talking about poison on the knife. If they're back to talking about her role in their plans, that needs to be specified.
